April Ross

April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball athletes to have medals won at many Olympics. In Tokyo in the coming days, she'll try to net her third medal alongside first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. However, more importantly Ross is aiming to capture her very first Olympic gold. It could be the last opportunity for her as she is 39 years old. But she is confident that the top honours will be in reach. If we play our best or even if we play very well, I think we can get that gold medal Ross spoke of via NBC Boston. Then I will also take some luck. Ross is born the 22, 1982, in Costa Mesa California. She was raised there by her parents. Ross competed in many activities while at Newport Harbor High School. She played basketball and ran track in addition to her volleyball skills in the indoors during her prep time. She was evidently the best when it came to indoor volleyball. While in high school she was a middle blocker outside setter and hitter on the volleyball court per her college bio. Thanks to her hard work, she was honored as an 1999 Gatorade The Circle of Champions' National Player of Year. The skills she showed in volleyball also earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Award in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman began their collaboration in the year 2017, however, Ross was a renowned athlete on the beach for a long time before. In fact, she won many major events playing two different teams, one of which is famous for her volleyball skills. They teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also as Kessy's Klineman and coach. Along with Kessy Ross, she won an Olympic Title in 2009 while competing internationally. In 2012, the duo took silver in London's Olympic Games. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor clinched gold overtaking them. In the end, fate had it that way. Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was part of the Trojans from USC during college years after she graduated in high school. Ross's Trojans experience was awe-inspiring. As a freshman in 2000 she fought her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman of the Year accolades. She also earned an All-American. Furthermore, she assisted her Trojans to reach the Final Four. During her sophomore season, she experienced a devastating personal tragedy, yet managed to make it back as an All-American. In her two final years playing for the Trojans, she helped them win consecutive championships. She was a fantastic volleyball player and won the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross was a student of the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the privilege of watching her daughter become famous in beach volleyball. Ross suffered the loss of her mother due to breast cancer back in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She still cherishes her late parent. In addition, Margie has always been an motivation for her at the beaches and throughout the world of.
